(i) Population Control : Growing population is a major cause of poverty in India. So, it is necessary to control it. Family planning programme should be implemented effectively.
(ii) Creation of more employment opportunities : Unemployment is still a big problem in India. It is also responsible for poverty Hence, it is essential to promote empolyment through intensive development technology.
(iii) Stepping up Capital Formation : Low rate of capital formation is a major hindrance in the way of fast economic development. Capital formation rate, therefore, must be increased.
(iv) Check on prise rate : Prise rise is also responsible for poverty in India. It decidedly goes against the interests of the poor. So, prise rate must be checked through proper, fiscal & monetary policies & other measures.

A democratic form of government is one which is directly elected by the people of that country. And also in a democracy elections take place at regular time intervals.
So the people to vote for the same government in power, the government will be responsible and accountable to the people who elected them
Or else the people may choose another party / leader in the next election.
Hence the elected leaders are usually responsible to people.

Regular electoral elections offer incentives to the political parties because if the elections are not regular, factors like effective campaigning, listings of the candidates and preparation of the manifestos will get affected.
All political parties and leader strive to come to power or retain it, if they are the elected parties. For both these objectives, it is imperative that the elections are held regularly and in time, so that they can plan well on all the above-mentioned factors.

The Treaty of Versailles was signed at Versailles in France. It was signed by the victorious nations. Main terms of the Treaty were:
- Germany was held guilty of aggression.
- She was also required to pay huge war reparations of 33 billion dollars to pay for the losses of the victorious nations.
- The Rhine Valley in Germany was to be demilitarised and German territory to the west Rhine was to be occupied by the Allied troops for 15 years.
- Germany lost Alsace- Lorraine to France and Schleswig to Denmark.
- Coal mines in Germany called Saar were given to France for 15 years.
- Germany lost all her colonies to the victorious nations.
- The size of the German army and navy was restricted and its Air force and submarines were banned.
There was dissatisfaction in Italy and Germany with the terms of the Treaty of Versailles. Several harsh restrictions were imposed on Germany. She had to a huge war indemnity and her mineral rich areas of Saar and Rhineland was occupied by France. Treaty of Versailles was one of the major causes of the Second World War.

The dutch controlled the forests in Indonesia and Java and it largely affected the lives of the people. Some of the provisions of Forest Act were as follows.
1) The Dutch made the forest laws which restricted the entry and use of the forests by the local people.
2) The dutch collected heavy rent from the people who cultivated in the forest.
3) Those who agreed to work for the forest department, were exempted from taxation but they were treated as bonded labours.
4) Grazing in the forest was banned and shifting cultivation was restricted.
5) Wood could be collected only for specific purposes like ship building, construction of houses etc. The wood could be collected only from certain forests and under close supervision.
6) Severe punishment were given to those who violated the laws.

- The Dutch first imposed rents on land being cultivated in the forest and then exempted some villages from paying these rents, if they provided free labour and buffaloes for cutting and transporting timber.
- This system was known as Blandongdiensten system.
- Later, instead of rent exemption forest villagers were given small wages, but their right to cultivate forest land was restricted.

1. Hitler believed in the racial supremacy of the Aryans. According to the theory of racial supremacy, only the Nordic German Aryans were supreme in society. The Jews were placed in the lowest strata of society. The Jews were regarded as the fiercest enemies of the German Aryans.
2. The theory of Darwin was wrongfully used by Hitler to justify imperial rule over conquered territories. He believed in acquiring new settlements for expanding the power and might of Germany. He expanded his territories eastwards towards USSR.
3.The Nazis after assuming power sought to eliminate the Jews and physically disabled Germans. Along with them, the Gypsies and the black Germans were also detained in concentration camps.
4. The Nazis saw women as mothers whose main work was to become good mothers and rear pure-blooded Aryan children. They had to teach Nazi ideologies to their children.
Because of the Nazi's ideology of superior Aryan race , About 6 million Jews were killed during Hitler’s regime. About 1 million Polish civilians, 2,00,000 Gypsies and 70,000 mentally and physically ill Germans were killed.
