Iron is a shiny, bright white metal that is soft, malleable, ductile and strong. Its surface is usually discolored by corrosion, since it combines readily with the oxygen of the air in the presence of moisture. In absolutely dry air, it does not rust

Ten tube-wells in a lane of fifty houses can lead people to mindlessly exploit the groundwater. This can lead to depletion of the water table in the long run.

1 km = 1000 m; 1 hr = 3600 sec.
{tex}1 km/hr = 1000/3600 m/sec = 5/18 m/sec{/tex}
To convert km/hr into m/sec, multiply the number by 5 and then divide it by 18.
72 km/hr = (72) 5/18 = 4 (5) =20 m/s

Radius of flower bed = 33 m (Diameter/2=radius)....
Radius of flower bed and path together = 33 + 4 = 37m....
So, Area of flower bed (path together )= 3.14 × 37 × 37 = 4298.66 m2
Area of flower bed = 3.14 × 33 × 33 = 3419.46 m2
Area of path = Area of flower bed and path together − Area of flower bed = 4298.66 − 3419.46 = 879.20 m2

Road transport is more important than railway transport in many ways.
- Road transport delivers people and goods at door.
- Road transport generates more employment than railway transport.
- It is easy to have access over hilly areas whereas it is not possible with railway transport.
- For laying of roads it costs less and consumes less time but to lay tracks for railway transport it is opposite.
- During emergency(war, accident etc) Road transport is widely useful/used.
- When an accident takes place the chances of casualties are more in railway transport when comparing with Road transport.

Perimeter of rectangle = 150m
ratio of length is to breadth = 2:3 = 2x : 3x
Perimeter = 2(l+b)
P = 2(3x+2x)
10x = 100
x = 100/10 = 10
l = 2x = 2 × 10 = 20 m
b = 3x = 3× 10 = 30 m
