The truck can go 8 km using 1 liter of petrol.

So, using 1 liter of petrol the truck runs 8 km.

We have to calculate the distance the truck covers using 10 and 2/3 liters i.e. 10.667 liters of petrol.

Use the unitary method.

Hence, using 10.667 liters of petrol the truck runs by (8× 10.667) =85.33 Kms

In the 18th century, many political reasons led to the decline of the Mughal Empire. Aurangzeb’s campaigns in the Deccan region decreased his military and financial power. His administrative system also started collapsing, as the governors started consolidating power in their own provinces.

Aurangzeb’s successors were unable to keep a check on the mansabdars and the subhedars.

To recover revenues, the governors started increasing the taxes and kept these with themselves. This led to uncontrollable revolts by the peasants and zamindars.

During this time, the empire also faced an attack from Nadir Shah of Iran, in 1739, and Ahmad Shah Abdali of Afghanistan five times - between 1748 and 1761 weakening the empire further.

The nobles divided into those supporting the Iranian and the Turanis nobles.Their power struggle led to the assassination of two Mughal emperors, Farrukh Siyar in 1719 and Alamgir II in 1759, blinding Emperors Ahmad Shah and Shah Alam II as well.

The decline of the Mughal authority led to three types of states in the subcontinent – old Mughal states, independent states under the Mughals, and states which became independent of the Mughal rule.

The food vacuole or digestive vacuole is a membrane-bound cell organelle (as in an amoeba) associated with a digestive function. They take up the food material by the process of phagocytosis and the ingested food is digested by food vacuole.

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 4 months ago

  • The food gets trapped inside food vacuole, into which digestive juices are secreted and convert them into simpler substances.
  • The digested food is then absorbed which is required for growth, maintenance and multiplication.
  • The undigested food is expelled out by vacuole.

The difference is that the amoeba do not have digestive system in it but humans have digestive system in them

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 4 months ago

Both Amoeba and humans require energy for the growth and maintenance of their bodies. This energy is derived from the food they eat. The food is in a complex form and is therefore broken down into simple forms by the process of digestion. Both these organisms are heterotrophs as they derive their food from other plants or animals. Difference between nutrition in Amoeba and human beings is gives below:

Digestion in humans Digestion in Amoeba
1. Humans have mouth and complex digestive system. Mouth and digestive system are absent in Amoeba.
2. Digestive juices are secreted in the buccal cavity, stomach and small intenstine. Digestive juices are secreted in the food vacuole.
3. Digestion of carbohydrates proteins and fats starts in separate regions. All the food components are digested in the food vacuole.

To construct: A pair of parallel lines intersecting other part of parallel lines.

Steps of construction:

(a) Draw a line l and take a point P outside of l .

(b) Take point Q on line l and join PQ.

(c) Make equal angle at point P such that ∠ Q = ∠ P.

(d) Extend line at P to get line m.

(e) Similarly, take a point R online m, at point R, draw angles such that ∠ P = ∠ R.

(f) Extended line at R which intersects at S online l. Draw line RS.

Thus, we get parallelogram PQRS.

Insectivorous means insect-eating, these plants derive most of their nutrition from the insects, that they trap and consume. These plants grow in humid areas, where plenty of sunlight and moisture is found. They are found in the nitrogen deficient soil. That is why they trap and digest insects to absorb nutrients. Venus flytrap, pitcher plant and cobra lily are some of the insectivorous plants’ names. They are often called Carnivorous plants.

Mode of nutrition in Pitcher plant: Plants which grow in nitrogen deficient soil derive their nitrogen from insects, e.g., pitcher plant etc.

Pitcher Plants : Leaf blade or lamina is modified into sac like structure known as pitcher. Leaf apex forms the lid of the pitcher which is lined by nectar secreting glands. Internal lining of the pitcher has digestive glands which secrete proteolytic enzymes to digest proteins of the trapped insects. To trap the insect pitcher has following modifications:

(i) Insects are attracted by coloured lid and nectar.

(ii) Neck of the pitcher bears bristles pointing inward and downward which pierces the body of the escaping insects and kills them.

(iii) Inner portion of pitcher is slippery and contain acidic fluid by which insects slips down and gets drowned in the fluid.

(iv) Once the insect is trapped and killed, it is digested and end products of digestion mainly amino acids are absorbed by the pitcher walls.

How to calculate percentage of a number. Use the percentage formula: P% * X = Y

  1. Convert the problem to an equation using the percentage formula: P% * X = Y.
  2. P is 10%, X is 150, so the equation is 10% * 150 = Y.
  3. Convert 10% to a decimal by removing the percent sign and dividing by 100: 10/100 = 0.10.

Multiply by 100 to convert a number from decimal to percent then add a percent sign %.

  1. Converting from a decimal to a percentage is done by multiplying the decimal value by 100 and adding %.
  2. Example: 0.10 becomes 0.10 x 100 = 10%
  3. Example: 0.675 becomes 0.675 x 100 = 67.5%

Cyclone is a General term of weather in which wind rotate inwadly to an area of low atmospheric pressure

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 4 months ago

Cyclone is a large scale air mass that rotates around strong centers of low pressure.

  • Water vapors are formed when water is heated.
  • This heat is released to atmosphere when water vapors convert to water during rains.
  • The heat released, warms the air around and makes it to move up. This also results in decreased air pressure.
  • Hence, cooler air from surrounding rushes to take the warm air’s place.
  • This repeats till a low pressure system with surrounding high speed winds is created. This is called a Cyclone.
  • Cyclone depends on wind speed, direction, temperature and humidity.

Cyclones are also called Hurricane in USA and Typhoon in Japan and Philippines

In algebra, an equation can be defined as a mathematical statement consisting of an equal symbol between two algebraic expressions that have the same value.

The most basic and common algebraic equations in math consist of one or more variables.

For instance, 3x + 5 = 14 is an equation, in which 3x + 5 and 14 are two expressions separated by an ‘equal’ sign.
