The continental plates are made of another volcanic type of silicates called granite. Continental crust is much thicker than oceanic crust---up to 35 kilometers thick. With densities of 2.7 to 2.8 (times that of water), continental plates are less dense than the oceanic plates which have densities of 3. These plates are named after the landforms found on them. The nine major plates are North American, Pacific, Eurasian, African, Indo-Australian, Australian, Indian, South American and Antarctic. The largest plate is the Pacific Plate at 39,768,522 square miles (103,000,000 square kilometers).

- The process by which plants make their own food in the presence of sunlight, carbon-dioxide present in air, water, minerals and chlorophyll present in leaves is termed as photosynthesis.

- Plants take up carbon-dioxide from the atmosphere through the tiny pores known as stomata present on thesurface of the leaves and surrounded by ‘guard cells’.
- The process of photosynthesis releases oxygen in the atmosphere during the synthesis of food.
- Plants absorb the water and minerals from the soil with the help of deep penetrated roots inside the soil and transport them to the leaves of the plants where synthesis of food takes place.
- The green pigment present in leaves known as chlorophyll helps the leaves of plant to capture the sunlight that act as the source of energy to carry out the process.
- After this the chlorophyll holding the cells of leaves in the presence of sunlight, carbon dioxide and water to produce carbohydrates in the leaves and is stored in the plants in the form of energy.

The lithosphere is the crust and upper mantle of a planet, including all the solid matter from moutains to valleys to tectonic plates underneath. In Earth the lithospheric mantle is brittle and hard, almost like the crust, though chemically distinct.
The biosphere is the life and ecology of a planet. It is not a distinct area, but rather a collection of areas, including parts of the atmosphere, lithosphere and hydrosphere, where organisms live and dead organic matter rests.

"In time" means various things but here it would mean with time to do something. So, something like: "My appointment was a 8, but I arrived at 7:55, in time to wash my face before the meeting".
"On time" means that you arrived when you were supposed to: "My meeting was a 8, but I wasn't exactly on time, I was 5 minutes early".

The protection of iron and steel from corrosion by coating with molten zinc. has been proved for a hundred and fifty years. This is called galvanizing. The zinc coating protects from the atmosphere the part’s surface, avoiding corrosion and weathering.
Galvanization helps extend the life of steel parts by forming a membrane between the metal and the air, preventing the accumulation of iron oxide on the steel layer. Galvanization also offers superior corrosion resistance to environmentally exposed parts.
The galvanizing process consists of three basic steps, namely surface preparation, fluxing and galvanizing. Material is loaded onto jigs before being immersed in molten zinc at about 450 degrees until the working temperature is the same as zinc. During this process, the molten zinc reacts to a series of zinc/iron alloys with the steel surface.
