Higher pKb means lower basic character. This indicates that aniline has less basic character than methyl amine. This is true because the benzene ring in aniline induces -R effect to thereby, pull off electron density from nitrogen making electron donation tougher. But, in methyl amine, the methyl group shows +R effect and this, greater electron density and greater basic character.
