x+ky+3z=0 ..(1) 3x+ky−2z=0 ..(2) 2x+4y−3z=0 ..(3) For non-zero solutions to exist: Find the value of k by determinant method of linear equations. Solving the above determinant equation, we get −3k+8−k(−9+4)+3(12−2k)=0 ⇒k=11 Solving equations (1), (2) and (3), we get 2x=5z & 3x=−(k+4)y ⇒2x=5z&x=−5y Now,  xz/y^2=(x)(2x/5)/[-x/5]^2=10
