(2x+3y=5)5;(5x+7y=1)2 By subtracting both we get 10x-10x+15y-14y =25-2 y=23 Putting the velue of y in equation 1 2x+3y=5 2x+3×23=5 2x=5-69 2x=-64 x=-32

y= 1-7x/5 putting the value of y in equation 2x+3y= 5 2x+3(1-7x/5)= 5 2x+(3-21x/5)= 5 (10x+3-21x/5)=5 (-11x+3/5)=5 -11x+3=25 -11x=25-3 -11x=22 x=-22/11 x=-2 2x+3y=5 2(-2)+3y=5 -4+3y=5 3y=5+4 3y=9 y=3
