When chlorophyll absorbs light ,the energy from the light excites an electron from its ground energy level to an excited energy level. The excited electron then moves from the initial molecule to a suitable electron acceptor through an electron transport chain & during this transfer of electrons through different electron carriers enrgy is released in form of ATP, chemical form of energy.
