Autotrophic nutrition: The mode of nutrition in which an organism prepares its own food is called autotrophic nutrition. Mostly green plants have the ability to manufacture their own organic food due to the presence of chlorophyll. They take up CO2 and H2O and manufacture carbohydrates in the presence of sunlight process called as photosynthesis. Such organisms are called autotrophs and their mode of nutrition is called autotrophic.
