How to write a summary ??

Read the piece thoroughly. Write down what you think the main point of the piece is. Reread the piece, taking notes on the major points of it. Don't focus on the evidence that the author uses to support those points. Start with the source’s information Work from memory to write the main point of each section Present the material using the author’s point of view. Use language appropriate to a summary. Reread the draft you wrote from memory against your notes. Present the summary in chronological order. Eliminate repetition. Add transitions where necessary. Check for grammatical and spelling errors. Check your length. Ask someone else to read your work.
