Yess the function is onto Let fx =y or x= f inverse y Now ...we have 2x+1 =y Hence x=(y-1)/2.. As y takes all the values from (-inf to +inf) Range of fx is same as the domain of x. Hence, the given function is onto ??hope this is helpful for uh
