For 1:- P(E or F) =P(E)+P(F)-P(E and F) =1/4+1/2-1/8 =(0.25+0.5)-0.125 =0.3-0.125 =0.175 For 2:- P(notE and notF) =1-P(E or F) =1-0.175 =0.825
