Given , y=sin^2(x^2) -------(i) And we have to differentiate it with x^2. First of all, let t=x^2 So, eq(i) become y=sin^2(t) ----------(ii) And we know that cos 2a=1-2sin^2(a): =>sin^2(t)=(1/2)(1-cos 2t) So eq(ii) become y=(1/2)-(1/2)(cos2t) Now differentiating w.r.t. x^2 i.e. t : dy/dt = sin 2t => dy/d(x^2) = sin 2(x^2) : Hence, solved.... Thanks....
