g(x)= x-3 Let, g(x)=0 x-3=0 x=3 Put x=3 in p(x) p(x)=x^3 - 4x^2 + x + 6 p(3)=3^3 - 4×3^2 + 3 +6 p(3)= 27 - 4×9 + 9 p(3)= 27 + 9 - 36 p(3)=36 - 36 p(3)=0 So, we can say that g(x) is a factor of p(x) Hope it help !!!
