Let the distance of the foot of the ladder from the wall be x m. Then,
x² + 12²= 15². . . . [By Pythagoras Property]
x² + 144 = 225
x²= 225 – 144
x² = 81
x = 9
Hence, the distance of the foot of the ladder from the wall is 9 m.
