We inhale nitrogen and other gases also. Only oxygen is consumed because we need it for cellular process. Some amount of nitrogen does get dissolved in the blood and later it is also released out while we exhale. When people crack their knuckles or their neck, you might hear a cracking sound. This is due to nitrogen escaping out of blood at the joints. By the way, nitrogen is completely harmless and it causes no issue to humans and carbon exist from lungs.
