In the energy pyramid when we we move towards producers to consumers only 10 percent of the total energy is transfers to the next level for primary level to secondary level Andvice versa first eg : Plants -> deer -> Lion 5000J > 500J > 50J

According to 10%law,only 10%of the energy is transferred from one trophic level to another higher trophic level where as 90%is lost to the surroundings.
