Why graphite conducts electricity but diamond does not ?

Because electron of diamond is bonded with 4 other electron so there is no free electron while graphite has free electron which carries charge from one place to another.

Since graphite has one free electron and in graphite 3 elec r bonded and there is one double bond but in diamond it is a rigid structure where all 4 electrons r bonded with other 4 electrons
