When the pH of the mouth is lower than 5.5 then the mouth becomes acidic in nature hence it starts decaying due to the presence of acid in the mouth as it usually comes due to the presence of bacteria for eating much , the bacteria releases the acids into the month.

Because our teeth are made up of calcium and phosphate and they are basic in nature so when the pH of mouth increases then acid reacts with teeth and may harm our teeth.
