Let l, m and n are 3 parallel lines and t and s are the transversal.
Join AF that intersects line m at G.
In {tex}\triangle{/tex}AEF, CG || EF,
{tex}\Rightarrow \frac { \mathrm { AC } } { \mathrm { CE } } = \frac { \mathrm { AG } } { \mathrm { GF } } {/tex}[BPT]........(i)
In {tex}\triangle{/tex}FBA, GD || AB,
{tex}\Rightarrow \frac { \mathrm { AG } } { \mathrm { GF } } = \frac { \mathrm { BD } } { \mathrm { DF } }{/tex}[BPT]........(ii)
From (i) and (ii),
{tex}\frac { \mathrm { AC } } { \mathrm { CE } } = \frac { \mathrm { BD } } { \mathrm { DF } }{/tex}
