Polar solvents are those solvents which have charge differentiation such as water. Non polar solvents are those solvents which dont have charge differentiation such as benzene. Polar solvents are the solvents like water, ethanol, methanol etc whose molecules have sufficiently high dipole moment while non-polar solvents are solvents like benzene, hexane, carbon tetrachloride whose molecules have zero or very low dipole moment.
