Ans. Drop the perpendicular from the point (p,q,r) on the x-axis. it ll meet on x-axis on (p,0,0)
The vector from the point (p,0,0) to the point (p,q, r) is perpendicular to the x-axis and its length gives you the distance from the point (p,q,r) to the x-axis.

By distance formula :

\( = {\sqrt{(p-p)^2+(q-0)^2+(r-0)^2}}\)

=> \( \sqrt{q^2+r^2} \)
