If equipotential surface r not perpndclr then a force will be exerted & if exerted work has to be done, but in equippotential surface fr moving charge no work is done

Shraddha Jangid 8 years ago

Because if it is inclined at some angle then it will have Two component ll and prd. To it and in electrostatics there is no parallel component because charges are at rest and the work done in taking a unit charge from one point to another on euipotential surface will not be equal to 0 if it will have a parallel component because cos0 is 1

Moving coil galvanometre

Lalit Maan 8 years ago

Gauss theorem
  • 1 answers
When current is passed through a galvanometer, the coil oscillates about its mean position before coming to rest. To bring the coil to rest immediately, the coil is wound on a metallic frame. Now, when the coil oscillates, eddy currents are set up in a metallic frame, which opposes further oscillations of the coil. This inturn enables the coil to attain its equilibrium position almost instantly. Since the oscillations of the coil die out instantaneously, the galvanometer is called dead beat galvanometer.
