Bleaching Powder is a chemical compound with formula Ca(ClO)2. (Calcium hypochlorite). It is widely used for water treatment. It is used for disinfection of water in the treatment process. The chlorine released by the Bleaching powder kills the harmful germs present in water.. The residual effect of this chlorine protects water from getting infected / contaminated with pathogens.

The relationship between the actual number of moles of solute added to form a solution and the apparent number as determined by colligative properties is called the van't Hoff factor (i).
i = (apparent number of particles in solution)/number of moles of solute dissolved
It is used to express the extent of association or dissociation of solute. If association or dissociation of solute particles takes place in the solution, then
i = observed measured value of colligative property/ expect value of colligative property
i = Number of particles after association or dissociation/ Number of particles of solute dissolved.

Peptide linkage: a peptide bond is a chemical bond formed between two molecules when the carboxyl group of one molecule reacts with the amino group of the other molecule, releasing a molecule of water (H2O). This is a dehydration synthesis reaction (also known as a condensation reaction) and usually, occurs between amino acid. Peptide linkage is responsible for the primary structure of protein.

Volume of H2SO4 (V1) = 30 ml)
Diluted volume of H2SO4 (V2) = 500 ml
Number of moles present in 1000 mL of 0.5 M H2SO4 = 0.5 mol
Initial molarity M1= 0.5 M
We have to find M2 (molarity of 500 ml solution)
M2V2 = M1V1
M2 x 500 = 0.5 x 30
M2 = 15/ 500 = 0.03 M

Freezing point of the solution will increase. Mercuric Iodide will react with Potassium Iodide to form dipotassium tetraiodomercury. The reaction is given below : 2KI + HgI2 = K2[HgI4] This association will decrease the number of ions in the solution as a result of which Van't Hoff Factor (i) will decrease as ndecreases from 4 to 3.
