When any metal react with oxygen then formed oxide of that metal ,this metal oxides called corrosion of that metal. For example: 4Al + 3O2 = 2Al2O3 Aluminium + Oxygen = Aluminium oxide 4Fe + 3O2 = 2Fe2O3 Ferrous + Oxygen = Ferric oxide
