catalyst increase the rate of chemical reaction without undergoing

Sia ? 6 years, 6 months ago

The main difference between catalyst and enzyme is that catalyst is a substance that increases the rate of a chemical reaction whereas enzyme is a globular protein that can increase the rate of biochemical reactions. The inorganic catalysts include mineral ions or small molecules.

Welcome..??
No, glyptal and terylene are different, but terlyene and dacron are same. Dacron is another name for terylene. Both terylene and glyptal are polyesters. They are polycondensation products of dicarboxylic acid and diols. Terylene is prepared by heating a mixture of ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid whereas glyptal is obtained by heating the mixture of ethylene glycol and phthalic acid. Hope it helps??

The solvent with form H bonds is know as polar solvent

Mini Madaan 6 years, 6 months ago

Polar solvent - electronegativity difference is there between molecules. Ex- HCl . Non polar solvent - electronegativity difference is equal to zero.

Priya Dharshini 6 years, 6 months ago

Ohh tnq aman... by example i understood good i can write my answer now...

Aman Kumar 6 years, 6 months ago

For example, I know jo mai example dene ja rha hu...wo bahot bachkana hai but sayad tumhe samajh aa jaye....=> We have a yellow colour solvent, if we add a yellow colour solute in it ,then the solution remain yellow in colour... But when we have a solvent of yellow colour and we add a solute of blue colour, the colour of the solution changes ...similarly , like substances dissolve nice but unlike substance does not......example :- Oil in water

Aman Kumar 6 years, 6 months ago

Ohk...ek solution hai jismai Nacl hai ,..with water they both are polar and have the same force of attraction btw the molecules ...that is in case of H2O, the force of attraction btw hydrogen and oxygen and in Nacl , the force of attraction btw Na and Cl is almost same...as they both are polar, so they easily get dissolve

  1. Sodium chloride or salt is used to clear snow on roads and is also used in ice creams i.e. to keep it solid. In both the cases, the salt works by lowering the melting or freezing point of water.
  2. Salt melts ice by lowering the freezing point of the water around the ice. The ice melts because we are introducing dissolved foreign particles into the water. The freezing point of water becomes lower and this is called freezing point depression. The ice is unable to re-freeze except at a much lower temperature.

Keshav Saxena 6 years, 6 months ago

Bcoz it melts the ice

Evaporation causes cooling. This is based on the fact that when a liquid evaporates, it takes (or draws) the latent heat of vaporization from "another matter" which it touches. This "another mater looses" heat and gets cooled. This is how evaporation causes cooling.
E.g.- When perfume falls on our hand, our hand feels cool  because perfume is a volatile liquid and gets evaporated rapidly taking away the latent heat of vaporization from our hand.

Lactic acid is a fairly common and simple example of optical isomerism. The (+) enantiomer of lactic acid is found in muscle. ... The positions of the hydroxyl groups on other chiral molecules can be compared with glyceraldehyde to see if they are the D-enantiomer or the L-enantiomer.

Sia ? 6 years, 6 months ago

We have
{tex}E_{(Cu^{2+}/Cu)}^\Theta=0.34V {/tex} and {tex}E_{(Ag^+/Ag)}^\Theta=0.80V {/tex}
Standard emf of Cu is less than Ag, therefore it is strong reducing agent and is oxidised. Therefore Cu acts as Anode and Ag acts as Cathode.
Half cell reactions are:
At Cathode (Reduction):
{tex}2Ag^+(aq)+2e^-\rightarrow2Ag(s){/tex}
At Anode (Oxidation):
{tex}Cu(s)\rightarrow Cu^{2+}(aq)+2e^- {/tex}
