In a colloidal solution, the particle size is larger i.e. of the order 1 nm to 100 nm, such that these particles scatter the light rays as they fall on them. Because of scattering, the path of the light as well as the particles become visible. But in a true solution, the particle size is so small (less than 1nm) that these particles are not in a position to scatter the light. Therefore, true solution does not show any Tyndall effect.

True Solution is a homogeneous mixture of two or more substances in which substance dissolved (solute) in solvent has the particle size of less than 10-9 m or 1 nm. Simple solution of sugar in water is an example of true solution.

When both the halogen atoms are present on the same carbon atom of the chain ,are geminal halides. Eg: Ethylidene chloride. When halogen atoms are present on adjacent carbon atoms ,are vicinal halide.Eg: Ethylene dichloride.

Lavi Kadiyan 6 years, 5 months ago

Vicinal is that when two halogens are attached to the two neighbouring carbons while geminal means when two halogens are attached to the same carbon ....hope it will help you

Basicity is the extent to which a substance will accept a proton/hydrogen ion. An example of a strongly basic substance is sodium hydroxide, which will accept a proton from water (or any other ‘acid’) like so:

NaOH (s) + H+ (l) → Na+ (aq) + OH- (aq)

Alternatively, this can be written as:

NaOH (s) → Na+ (aq) + OH- (aq)

Arrhenius equation is mathematically expressed as:
{tex}k = A{\rm{ }}{e^{-Ea/RT}}{/tex}
where, A is Arrehenius factor or the frequency factor, k is rate constant, T is absolute temperature,  Ea is Activation energy, and R is gas constant.

K@Łp@N@ $Øđh!?? 6 years, 5 months ago

In physical chemistry, the Arrhenius equation is a formula for the temperature dependence of reaction rates. ... The Eyring equation, developed in 1935, also expresses the relationship between rate and energy.

Cyclotron is a mechanical device used to accelerate charged to high kinetic energy in special vessel in which both electric and magnetic fields act perpendicular to eachother

K@Łp@N@ $Øđh!?? 6 years, 5 months ago

an apparatus in which charged atomic and subatomic particles are accelerated by an alternating electric field while following an outward spiral or circular path in a magnetic field.

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 5 months ago

  • Cyclotron is a device used to accelerate charged bodies to very high velocities (or high kinetic energies) using crossed (or mutually perpendicular) electric and magnetic fields
  • Cyclotron is based on the independency of frequency (of rotation of charged particle) on the energy (velocity) and radius (of revolution) of charged particle. The motion of charge , electric field, and the magnetic field are mutually perpendicular(θ= 90°), so:

fc = 1/T = qB(sinθ)/(2πm) = qB/(2πm)
