Rate Law : It is the expression which relates the rate of reaction with concentration of the reactants. The constant of proportionality ‘k’ is known as rate constant.
Rate constant: When the concentration of reactants is unity, then the rate of reaction is known as rate constant. It is also called specific reaction rate.

It is because hydration energy of Cu2+ ion is high compared to Cu+ ion. The high hydration energy of Cu2+ can overcome second ionization energy of Cu2+ .That is why Cu2+ is more stable than Cu+ ion in aqueous solution.

The law of mass action states that the rate of a reaction is proportional to the product of the concentrations of each reactant. This law can be used to explain the behavior exhibited by solutions in dynamic equilibria. The law of mass action also suggests that the ratio of the reactant concentration and the product concentration is constant at a state of chemical equilibrium.
