Urbanization began in ancient Mesopotamia in the Uruk Period (4300-3100 BCE) for reasons scholars have not yet agreed on. It is speculated, however, that a particularly prosperous and efficient village attracted the attention of other, less prosperous, tribes who then attached themselves to the successful settlement.

There were no street drains like in Mohenjo Daro. The house roofs sloped inwards to let the rainwater seep down with the help of clay pipes and drains into the sumps of the inner courtyard. 3. People disposed of their wastes in the streets so the threshold of the houses was raised to prevent flowing of mud inside. 4. Light came from doorways to the courtyard, not this windows, to allow people privacy. 5. The main wooden door of the house always opened inwards because of an omen. 6. The Crusades had a bitter impact on the Muslim-Christian relations. The horrors of wars forced the Muslims to constrain all ties with the Christians. The need to protect the areas inhabited by mixed populations compelled the Muslims to further act more strictly with the Christians.
Apart from violence and terror, the Crusades had some positive impacts too. The Crusades gave a huge boost to commerce. The long-drawn-out wars created a constant need for the transportation of men and goods from the East to the West and vice versa. Goods from Damascus, Alexandria and Cairo flowed into the sea ports of Italy to be further shipped to Europe. The trading activities helped in increasing the influence of the Italian mercantile class on international trade. Thus, we can say that the Crusades had diverse effects on both Asia and Europe.
