    Writing began in Mesopotamia around 3200 BCE when the Sumerians started making clay tablets to keep records of the transactions in the City of Uruk. It quickly developed further, helping in legal and commercial documentation. A wedge-like figure started appearing around this type and by 2600 BCE Cuneiform script was developed in the Sumerian language and was widely used, even by the King who would use it to tell about his deeds and new reforms. Writing became a symbol of the skilful. In 2400 BCE, Sumerian was replaced by Akkadian and prevailed till 1 CE when it was replaced by Aramaic, a language similar to Arabic and Hebrew
