RuBisCo enzymes acts as both carboxylase and oxygenase. It carries out more carboxylation in the C4 plants as these plants have special mechanism that increases the concentration of the CO2 at the enzyme site. There is no photorespiration in the C4 plants and thus oxygen does not bind to the RuBisCo enzyme.

Photosynthesis includes series of chemical reactions which are carried out in chloroplast,i.e.The specialized structures found on cells of plants. In these series of reaction, water and carbon dioxide are converted into glucose and in this reaction energy from sunlight is used. Photosynthesis takes place inside plant cells in small things called chloroplasts. Chloroplasts (mostly found in the mesophyll layer) contain a green substance called chlorophyll. Because plants that have chlorophyll and do photosynthesis are also plants that use carbon dioxide. Using solar energy to turn carbon dioxide and water into sugar and oxygen is what happens during photosynthesis. So if all plants do photosynthesis then the answer to your question is yes, all plants use carbon dioxide.

Satellite chromosomes are chromosomes that contain secondary constructs that serve as identifying markers. ... This is the case with the acrocentric chromosomes 13, 14, 15, 21 and 22; chromosomes which contain a segment that is separated from the main body of the chromosome by such a secondary constriction.

Sometimes a few chromosomes have non-staining secondary constrictions at a constant location. This gives the appearance of a small fragment called the satellite or trabant. These chromosomes are called sat (satellite) chromosome. Nucleolus is formed by sat chromosome.

ience MENU Explain the formation of urea in the body. Describe the path taken by urea from the organ till it leaves the body print Print document PDF list Cite Expert Answers info TROPHYHUNTER1 eNotes educator | CERTIFIED EDUCATOR Whenever one consumes proteins, after using the amino acids in the body for protein synthesis, the waste product that is produced is urea. Urea is soluble in water. It is how nitrogen is excreted by the body. The body is unable to store excess protein. Therefore, after digestion by the stomach and small intestine, the amino acids which are protein's endproducts enter the bloodstream. Excess amino acids are converted in the liver to other products by the process of deamination. The nitrogen in the amino acid becomes converted to ammonia, and this is further converted by the liver into urea, which is less toxic than ammonia to the body. The kidneys will then filter out the urea from the circulation, send it to the bladder along with water and excrete it in the form of urine.

The shape of the calcium channel protein allows only calcium ions to pass through the channel. ... There the calcium ions interact with the neurotransmitter containing vesicles (membrane-bound containers) causing them to fuse with the cell membrane, and release the neurotransmitters into the synaptic cleft. Calcium (Ca2+) is a vital element in the process of neurotransmitter release; when Ca2+ channels are blocked, neurotransmitter release is inhibited. Storage of the neurotransmitter in storage granules or vesicles in the axon terminal. Calcium enters the axon terminal during an action potential, causing release of the neurotransmitter into the synaptic cleft. After its release, the transmitter binds to and activates a receptor in the postsynaptic membrane.
