The guidelines to be kept in mind while adopting political reforms also include:
(i) Involving political parties, political activists and people in bringing about reforms rather than impose reforms through laws.
(ii) Legal measures should be positive, more like incentives.
(iii) Improving the quality of political practices by increasing people’s participation.
(iv) Laws being considered may meet with resistance in the legislatures and by political parties. So the best way to bring about the change is through democratic movements and media.

A pressure group can be described as an organized group that does not put up candidates for election, but seeks to influence government policy or legislation. They can also be described as ‘interest groups’, ‘lobby groups’ or ‘protest groups’.
Pressure groups (or interest groups) and social movements are hard to distinguish from one another. They have a lot of similarities.
The difference, though, is that an interest group is generally more of a "mainstream" group that tries to influence the government in conventional ways.
By contrast, a social movement is usually more of an "outsider" group that has to resort to unconventional ways of getting its point across.
Interest groups can include groups like the Chamber of Commerce or an interest group in favor of closer ties with Israel. These groups have power and act by giving campaign donations to politicians, helping them write legislation, and other such "inside" tactics.
By contrast, social movements start out as outsider movements like the Civil Rights Movement. These movements lack the ability to do "insider" things and therefore resort to things like protests.

Women face disadvantage, discrimination and oppression in various ways:
(i)The literacy rate among women is only 54 per cent as compared to 76 per cent among men. This is because women are deprived of an equal access to education as the males in the society. Even a very small percentage of girls go for higher education and drop-out rate is also higher among the girls.
(ii)Proportion of women in highly paid jobs is very small. On an average Indian woman works an hours more than a man. Yet much of her work is not paid and therefore often not valued.
(iii)The preference to male child over the female child has led to *** selective abortion. This has lowered *** ratio in India.
(iv)Women are exploited and harassed at the workplace and at home. These are cases of harassment, exploitation in the urban areas as well. They are even subjected to domestic violence at homes.

Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar was nominated as a delegate of the oppressed classes for the Second Round Table Conference. In that Round Table Conference, he clashed with Mahatma Gandhi by demanding separate electorates for the Dalits.
When the British Government accepted the Ambedkar's demand, Gandhiji began a fast unto death. He believed that separate electorates for the Dalits would slow down the process of their integration into the society. This issues was eventually resolved through the Poona Pact of September 1932.
It gave the Depressed classes (which later came to be known as The Scheduled Castes) reserved seats in the provincial and central legislative councils, but they were to be voted in by the general

t is an aggressive extremism based on religious identity. It is an attitude that sees one's own group as the only legitimate or worthy group while other .groups are considered as inferior and illegitimate. Thereofore it is aggressive political ideology linked to religion Eg. Hindus and Muslims fight frequently because each of them thinks their religion is superior to other. This extreme feeling makes them blind to see the reality. It is true that communalists are intensely involved with religion, there is in fact no necessary relationship between personal faith and communalism. It can be stated that a communalist may or may not be a devout person and devout believers may or may not be a communalist. However, all communalists do believe in political identity based on religion.
