Large scale participation of women was an important feature of the Civil Disobedience Movement. During the Salt March, thousands of women came out of  their homes to listen to the speeches of Gandhi. women participated in protest marches, manufactured salt, and picketed foreign cloth and liquor shops. Many went to jail. While women of high caste families participated from urban areas, in rural areas they came from rich peasant households.

But this did not bring about any radical changes in the positin of women. For a long time the Congress was reluctant to allow women to hold any position of authority within the organisation.

The tree Round Table Conferences  of 1930–32 were a series of  conferences organized by the British government to discuss  constitutional reforms in India. They were conducted as per the  recommendation by the report submitted by the Simon Commission in May 1930. Demands for swaraj,  or self-rule, in India had been growing increasingly strong. By the  1930s, many British politicians believed that India needed to move  towards dominion status.  However, there were significant disagreements between the Indian and  the British political parties that the Conferences would not resolve.

Yes it is quite true that development for one may not be development fot the other. This statement can be understood from the following points:- [5 marks] (i) High wages mean development for a worker but it may go against the producer or entrepreneur and may not be development for him. (ii) A trader or a poor farmer wants to sell his produce at a high price rate but a common man wants to buy it at a lower price rate. (iii) Construction of dam means more and cheap power but it may displace the people who live in that land and snatch their habitat. (iv) The industrialists want more and more construction of dams to get cheap electricity but it may submerge the agricultural and ancestral lands of the people living there. (v) A milkman wants to sell his milk at a high rate but the people who use milk as their daily need will oppose him. Regards, RISHABH PARIDA

• Different people face different situations. •°• it's only natural that their needs, desires and aspirations will be different. • Different aspirations lead to differing notions of development. • Thus, what may be development for 1 person or group may not be so for another, it may even be conflicting to their notion of development. • For instance, for urban people construction of a dam is development as it would led to the fulfillment of their aspirations of better energy supply. However this is not development for the forest dwellers and aadivasis who will get displaced due to the submergence of their land due to the construction of the dam.

Yes becoz what may be development for one may nt be development for another, it may be destructive for the other, example book me dekh lijiyega???

Anushka ? 6 years, 10 months ago

Development for one may be destructive for other. It's not important that living status of every person is same. For example, development for a industrialist is to build large dams but this lead to problems for the tribal people who were displaced.

Prudential reasons: power sharing avoids social conflicts.social conflicts lead to violence and political instability.so by adopting power sharing we can avoid political instability.in india reservations are done to sc and st communities so that they feel that they are part of the nation.
Moral reasons : power sharing is the spirit of democracy.a true democratic governance include the wish of the people. people can form associations to critize the govt. policies which makes govt. to rethink about its policies this active paticipation is only possible because of moral reasons of power sharing .
