Resources are natural, to extract these resources for our resource require technology and industries.There are ample has played an important role in the economic development 1.For example:India is rich in resources but since it lacked resources, it is a developing country.In the past, Britishers processed them into nal goods.They are more technologically developed country.2. Another example from present scenario is Africa. Africa countries are underdeveloped.The reason is lack in technological and gold mined from its countries are taken away by the developed Hence we can say that mere availability of resources without country's economic development.

• Cotton mills in the 19th century started providing employment to a large number of people as the production enhanced for the purpose of export.
• The export of Indian textile brought Indian textile industry in the lime light as the quality was appreciated world wide.
• The economy of the country also boomed with the large scale cotton mills coming into existance.

(i) Conservation preserves the ecological diversity and our life support systems like land, water, air and soil.
(ii) It also preserves the genetic diversity of plants and animals for better growth of species and breeding. For example, in agriculture, we are still dependent on traditional varieties of crop.
(iii) Fisheries too are heavily dependent on the maintenance of aquatic biodiversity.
(iv) To protect the depletion of rapidly declining wildlife conservation of forest is essential.

Federalism is a system of government in which the power is divided between a central authority and various constituent units of the country. Usually, a federation has two levels of government. One is the government for the entire country that is usually responsible for a few subjects of common national interest. The others are governments at the level of provinces or states that look after much of the day-to-day administering of their state. Both these levels of governments enjoy their power independent of the other.

Sustainable economic development means development should take place without damaging the environment, and environment and development in the present should not compromise with the needs of the future generations.
Two ways in which resources can be used judiciously are (i) Resource planning (it) Resource conservation

Though income is one of the most important aspects of our lives, there are other important things, such as  
(a) People also seek things like equal treatment, freedom, security and respect.  
(b) Women need safe and secure environment to take up a variety of Jobs or run a business.  
(c) People also need political rights.  
(d) People seek a pollution-free environment.  

The British government constituted a Statutory Commission under Sir John Simon. The commission was made to look into the functioning of the constitutional system in India and suggest changes. But since all the members in the commission were British , the Indian leaders opposed the commission. The Simon Commission arrived in India in 1928. It was greeted with the slogan ‘Go back Simon'.

Impact of Jallianwala Bagh massacre:
 1. News of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre spread like fire and people all over North India started to protest.
 2. Police and government building were attacked by the people and they went on strikes.
3. The colonial government reacted with brutal repression. Satyagrahis were humiliated by rubbing the nose on the ground, crawling and saluting the officers.
4. People were flogged and villages were bombed by the government. 5. Mahatma Gandhi called off the movement because of the rapid spread of violence.

Federalism is a government in which powers of the government are divided between the central government and the governments of the constituent units of the country.
Unitary form of government is a government in which all the powers of government are concentrated into the hands of one central government and all the units are subordinate and under the central government.
