The spreading of nationalism took place due to following factors
(i) United Struggle Different religious groups and communities unitedly struggled against the British rule.
(ii) Cultural Processes Unity spread through various cultural processes like history, folklore, songs and symbols that helped in spread of nationalism.
(iii) Common Identity The painting of‘Bharat Mata was commonly identified as motherland and affected the people equally.
(iv) Revival of India Folklore Reviving the folklore through folk songs, legends helped in promoting traditional culture and restore a sense of pride in the past history and culture.
(v) Role of the Leaders Leaders like’ Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru aroused the feelings of nationalism through their motivational speeches and political activities.
Thus, it can be concluded that nationalism spread, when people began to believe that they were all part of the same nation.

Characteristics of development are as follow
(i) The idea of development has always been with ’
us, when we desires about what we would like to do.
(ii) Development involves thinking about the . questions and about the ways in which we can work forwards achieving our desired goals.
’ (iii) There can be different development goals of different persons.
(iv) Development for one may not be development for other. It may even be destructive for other.

1.Frankfurt Parliament 1848 - The frankfurt parliament tried its best for unification of Germany under the leadership of King William 4th of Prussia but it failed. 2.Unification under the leadership of Prussia- Prussia took on the leadership of the movement of national unification .Its chief minister Otto Von Brismark carried out the movement for unification with the help of army and bureaucracy . 3.Role of Brismark- He was one of the greatest sons of Prussia who accomplished the supreme task of the unification of germany with the help of army and bureaucracy . He was convinced that the unification could be achieved only by the Princes not by the people. He wanted to achieve his aim by not merging Prussia into Germany but he wanted to expand Prussia into Germany . 4.Three wars - Brismarks object of unification Germany was accomplished by the three wars which were fought during a brief period of 7 years, 1864 to 1870. 5.Final unification Of Germany - The above three wars ended in Prussian victory and helped in completing the unification of Germany . On January 18,1871 in the royal palace of Versailles the king of Prussia was crowned as the German Emperor .

1) Italy was divided into 7 states, out of which only Sardinia Piedmont was ruled by Italian princely house. 2)Northern Italy was under Austrian Habsburg, the centre under the Pope and Southern Italy was ruled by Bourbon kings of Spain. 3)During 1830s,Guiseppe Mazzini had sought for a unitary republic of Italy. For this, he formed a secret society called Young Italy. 4)However, due to his failure in the revolution of 1831 and 1848, the responsibility of unification of Italy came upon King Victor Emmanuel II. 5)Chief Minister Cavour led this movement. He was neither a revolutionary nor a democrat. 6)Through a tactful diplomatic alliance with France, Sardinia Piedmont was successful in defeating Austria in 1859. 7)Apart from regular troops, a large number of armed volunteers under the leadership of Guiseppe Garibaldi joined the fray. 8)In 1860, they marched to the Kingdom of the Two Siciles and succeeded in winning the support of local peasants to drive out the Spanish rulers. 9)In 1861, King Victor Emmanuel II was proclaimed as the king of United Italy.

The process of unification of Germany:
1. The middle-class Germans had tried to fight for a united nation governed by an elected parliament in 1848 but were repressed by the monarchy and military.
2. Otto von Bismarck, chief minister of Prussian led the movement for unification of Germany. He was supported by the bureaucracy and the Prussian army.
3. After three wars with Austria, Denmark, and France, Prussia won and unified Germany. The Prussian king, William I, was proclaimed the German emperor in January 1871.

From the 1960s..the rising cost of US's overseas involvement weakened it's finances.....the US dollar could not maintain its value and hence it led to the collapse of the system of fixed exchange rates.

  •  this led to periodic debt crisis, lower income and increased poverty in Africa and Latin America.
  •  from late 1970s,MNCs also began to shift production operations to low-wage Asian countries.
  •  As Wages were relatively low in countries like china,it became a favourite destination for investment by foreign MNCs competing to capture world markets.
