We live in a patriarchal society wherein for ages women have delegated to domestic work or care work that are not deemed very important and earns little or no remunerations.
On the other hand, men have not indulged in domestic jobs. They have been working outside the house and so the work done by them is more visible than that done by women. Because of a patriarchal mindset, there has been sexual division of labor and a belief system that propagates that men do more important work than women do.

In 1834, the customs union of Zollverein was formed at the initiative of Prussia and was joined by most of the German states.
- The union abolished tariff barriers and reduced the number of currencies from over thirty to two.
- The creation of a network of railways further stimulated mobility, harnessing economic interests to national unification.
- A wave of economic nationalism strengthened the wider nationalist sentiments growing at the time.
- Varied currencies and weights and measures were obstacles to economic growth, so the creation of a unified economic territory allowing the unhindered movement of goods, people and capital was needed. So, Zollverein was formed.

Some industrialists in nineteenth-century Europe preferred hand labour to machines because of the following reasons:
- Machines were costly, ineffective, difficult to repair and required huge capital investments.
- Labour was available at low wages at that period of time. Only seasonal labour was required in seasonal industries.
- A range of products could be produced only with hand labour. Machines were oriented to produce uniform and standardized goods for a mass market. But, the demand in the market was often for goods with intricate designs and specific shapes.
- In the Victorian age, the aristocrats and other upper-class people preferred articles made by hand only.

The centre-state relations of Indian federalism constitute the core of federalism and are regulated by the provisions of the Indian constitution. But in reality, it depends on how ruling parties and leaders follow these provisions.
Earlier when a ruling party at state and centre was different, the Union Government undermined the power of states. The Central Government has been misusing the Constitution to dismiss the State governments that were controlled by rival parties. This undermined the spirit of federalism. All this changed significantly after 1990.
After 1989 pattern has shifted to multi-party coalition government at the centre. The era of coalition has changed the relationship between the center and state governments since no single party got a clear majority in the Lok Sabha, the major national parties had to enter into an alliance with many parties including several regional parties to form a government at the Center. This led to a new culture of power-sharing and respect for the autonomy of State Governments.

Gandhiji launched the Civil Disobedience Movement because of the following reasons:
- On 31 January 1930, Mahatma Gandhi sent a letter to Viceroy Irwin stating eleven demands. Some of these were of general interest, others were specific demands of different classes, from industrialists to peasants.
- Mahatma Gandhi’s letter was, in a way, an ultimatum. If the demands were not fulfilled by 11 March, the letter stated, the Congress would launch a civil disobedience campaign.
- Viceroy Irwin was unwilling to negotiate with Gandhiji.
Hence, the Salt March marked the beginning of the Civil Disobedience Movement.
