Development for one may not be development for others because every person in this world has their different goals and destinations like:- 1.farmer-- good irrigation, low input facilities, good rain etc and for officer good job, good income, development for a country

Puneet Jaiswal 6 years, 6 months ago

Development for one may not be development for the other .For ex - A girl expects as much freedom and opportunity as her brother, and that he also shares in the household work. Her brother may not like this . Similarly, to get more electricity, industrialists may want more dams . But this may submerge the land and disrupt the lives of people who are displaced-such as tribals .

The Rowlatt Act was enacted quickly by the Imperial Legislative Council in 1919, notwithstanding the organized resistance of the members of Indian Congress. This Document furnished the British Government with immense capabilities to suppress state movements.

According to this legislation, political captives could be confined in jail externally of 2 years trial. Mahatma Gandhi desired non-violent public rebellion upon such inequitable law.

Rowlatt Act was confronted by people in India in the following ways;

1. Gandhi started resistance by adopting non-violent tactics such as civil disobedience followed by a hartal on April 6.

2. People from different states started holding demonstrations against this law.

3.  Shops were closed and the railway workers went on strikes.

Mahatma ghandi started because:

-The non-cooperation movement was started with the middle class refusing to buy British cloth and boycotting Government offices, schools and courts.

-The peasants in Awadh, tribal also joined in the non-cooperation movement which was called off because of the violence in Chauri Chaura.

-In December 1929, under Nehru’s leadership the radicals won over the liberals and the moderates and formalised the demand for Purna Swaraj and not Dominion Status as had been thought of before.

To make a long story short,

mahatma Gandhi started the non cooperation movement as a protest against the Rowlett Act,Jalianwala Bagh incident and to support the Killafat movement of the Muslims.

TERTIARY sector or service sector plays a very significant role and its importance is rising day by day.

  1. Greater the development of primary sector and secondary sector, more would be the demand for services.
  2. Tertiary sector has become the largest producer in India because various kinds of services such as a hospital, educational institution, post and telephone services, police, court, etc. are required.
  3. Even development of agriculture and industry leads to the development of services such as transport, trade and storage etc.
  4. With the rise in income, demand for more services is also rising. For example, eating out in a restaurant, tourism, mall and shopping complex, school etc.
  5. New services like IT and outsourcing have become very important for modem trade and industry.

Unfortunately, the rapid growth of the service sector in India has not yet shown the expected corresponding increase in employment.

Here, indiscriminate use of resources means 'overuse of resources'. Resources are being used more than what is required, unnessarily. This leads to many problems like extinction of valuable resources, environmental problems like air pollution, land degradation due to overgrazing, health problems of workers working in mines, ground water deplition due to over irrigation, soil erosion leading to decrease in soil fertility etc... This may situations where we will not be able to fulfill our basic needs like water, food etc... Therefore, overuse of these resources must be controlled for better future.

In the states of Punjab , Haryana, Western uttar Pradesh, over irrigation is responsible for land degradation due to water logging leading to increase in salinity and alkalinity in the soil . In these ways indiscriminate use of resource has led to numerous..........

? Constitution prescribes that the number of Dutch and French ministers shall be equal in the central government. Some special laws require the support of majority of ministers from each linguistic groups. ? Many powers of the central government have been given to the state government of the two regions of the country. State government is not subordinate to the central government. ? Brussels has a seperate government in which both the communities have equal representation. The french speaking people have accepted equal representation in Brussels because the dutch community have accepted equal representation in the central government. ? Apart from central and state governments, there is a third kind of government. This "community government" is elected by the people of one language community - French, Dutch and German - no matter where they live.

India is a federal country. It has governments at both-central and the state levels.

  • After Independence, there were only few parties which formed governments at the centre and at the state levels. When rival parties formed the Government at the state level, the Central Government tried to misuse its powers by dismissing the State Governments. This weakened the federal spirit of our constitution.
  • However, the condition improved after 1990 when many regional parties emerged in different states.
  • This also marked the beginning of the coalition government. Two or more parties formed the Government at the centre in the absence of a clear majority. This led to a new era of power sharing and respecting the independent working of the State Governments.
