Cities provide markets and also provide services such as banking, insurance, transport, labour, consultants and financial advisors, etc., to the industries. Many industries tend to come together to make use of the advantages offered by the urban centres known as agglomeration economies. Gradually a large industrial agglomeration takes place. So, it is basically coordination of various industries in a city for the development of manufacturing industries.

Belgium accommodated its diverse population by working out an arrangement which suited to the needs of various communities. It was done in the following ways:
- Though the Dutch were in majority in the country, the French and Dutch speaking population was given equal representation in the Central government.
- Belgium was declared as a Federal state, and thus State governments were given important powers. The State governments did not act a subordinate to the Central government.
- The capital city of Brussels had a separate government. Though the French speaking population was in majority in the city, they accepted equal representation in Brussels. This was because the Dutch speaking people had accepted equal representation in the Central government in spite of being in majority.
- Community government also existed in Belgium which was elected by major linguistic groups namely, Dutch, French and German speaking people. This government looked after educational, language and educational issues.

Foreign trade is the trade between different countries of the world. It consists of imports, exports . The inflow of goods in a country is called import trade whereas outflow of goods from a country is called export trade.
Integration of markets across countries:
(i)Foreign trade creates an opportunity for the producers to reach beyond the domestic markets, i.e., markets of their own countries.
(ii)Producers can sell their produce not only in markets located within the country but can also compete in markets located in other countries of the world.
(iii)Similarly, for the buyers, import of goods produced in another country is one way of expanding the choice of goods beyond what is domestically produced.
(iv)In general, with the opening of trade, goods travel from one market to another. Choice of goods in the markets rises. Prices of similar goods in the two markets tend to become equal. And, producers in the two countries now closely compete against each other even though they are separated by thousands of miles.
(v)For example, during Diwali seasons, buyers in India have the option of choosing between Indian and the Chinese decorative lights and bulbs. Many shops have replaced Indian decorative lights with Chinese lights. For Chinese light manufacturers, this provides an opportunity to expand their business.

Most loans from informal lenders carry a very high interest rate and do little to increase the income of the borrowers. Thus, it is necessary that banks and cooperatives increase their lending particularly in the rural areas, so that the dependence on informal sources of credit reduces.
Secondly, while formal sector loans need to expand, it is also necessary that everyone receives these loans. It is important that the formal credit is distributed more equally so that the poor can benefit from the cheaper loans.
