Connecting the metallic body of a high powered electrical appliances to the earth wire of domestic circuit is called earthing.

In an electrical installation , an earthing system or grounding system connects specific parts of that installation with the Earth's conductive surface for safety and functional purposes. The point of reference is the Earth's conductive surface. Also in a high power handling electrical instruments, metal part of the cabinet is connected to earth by low resistance cables

Earthing is the process of transferring the immediate discharge of electricity directly to the earth plate, by means of low resistance electrical cables or wires. In case of a short circuit due to leakages arising from weak insulation or damage, the earthing wire safely removes excess electricity and passes it on to the ground. Safety to persons operating high power electrical systems is ensured by earthing.

Self linking of atoms of an element to form straight chains,branched chains,cyclic chains and long chains is called catenation. Hope it will help you .....

Gouri Patil 5 years, 11 months ago

It is a property that carbon compound posseses in this carbon can make long chains with as many as carbon compounds , it cam also make branches and rings

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 11 months ago

Catenation : The self linkage is known as catenation. The property of catenation is responsible for the occurrence of innumerable oragnic compounds.

It is the binding of an element to itself through covalent bonds to form chain or ring molecules.

Examples : Carbon is the most common element that exhibits catenation property. That means it can form long hydrocarbon chains and rings like benzene.

There are two types of electric charge: positive charge and negative charge.

When you rub your feet against the carpet, negative charge is transferred to you from the carpet. The carpet will then become positively charged by the same amount.

Another example is to take two neutral objects such as a plastic ruler and a cotton cloth (handkerchief). To begin, the two objects are neutral (i.e. have the same amounts of positive and negative charge).

The information is received at the dedritic tip of a neuron. This creates an electrical impulse, which travels from dendrites to cell body and then along the axon. At the end of axon, the electrical impulse sets off the release of some chemicals, which cross the synapse to the next neuron.

Focal length of concave mirror f = -10 cm
Height of the object ho = 2 cm
Height of the image hi = 6 cm
Magnification m = hi/ho = 6/2 = 3 (erect image)
                         m = -v/u
                          3 = -v/u   ⇒ v = -3u
Mirror formula: 1/v  +  1/u   = 1/f
                           1/(-3u) + 1/u  = 1/(-10)
                            ⇒ u = -20/3 = -6.7 cm
