Exothermic Reaction: A chemical reaction in which heat is given out is known as exothermic reaction. For example
C(g) + O2(g) → CO2(g) + Heat Energy
NaOH(aq) + HCl (aq) → NaCl(aq) + H2O(l) + Energy
Endothermic Reaction: A chemical reaction in which heat energy is absorbed is known as endothermic reaction. For example
N2(g) + O2(g) → 2 NO
C(s) + H2O → CO(g) + H2(g)

At the cellular level the muscle cells move by changing their shape so that they shorten. Muscle cells have special proteins that change both their shape and their
arrangement in the cell in response to nervous electrical impulses. When this happens, new arrangements of these proteins give the muscle cells a shorter form.
When the sense organ in our body is affected, it sends the message to the brain in the form of electrical impulses through the sensory neurons. The brain analyses this message and decides the action to be taken. The brain then sends out instructions to the muscles of the concerned body parts through motor nerves and the concerned body part acts accordingly.

Dominant trait: The trait which can express its effect over contrasting trait is called a dominant trait. It is expressed even in the presence of one copy of an allele for a particular character in the gene, i.e., it is expressed in the heterozygous condition.
Example: Yy represents dominant trait for yellow seed colour. Seed is yellow even when single copy is dominant allele Y is present.

-ide is used for non-metal compounds generally. For example, Chlorine forms a chloride ion, so NaCl is Sodium Chloride. -ate and -ite are commonly used for polyatomic ions of Oxygen. -ate is used for the ion that has the largest number of Oxygen atoms.

Soap molecules have two parts, on is polar head which is hydrophilic (water soluble) carboxylate group and other is non polar tail, which is hydrophobic (oil soluble) hydrocarbon tail. In water, several soap molecules aggregate to form micelles in which hydrocarbon tails are in the interior of cluster and polar heads are at the surface of clusters. The dirt in cloth is due to presence of dust particles in fat or grease which stick to the cloth. In the soap solution, micelles are formed around oil droplets. The hydrophobic part of soap is in the oil droplet and hydrophilic part projects outside like bristiles. The oil drops and micelle are then pulled in water due to hand rubbing or agitation and are washed away.

When they come into our houses, they pass through a circuit called a Fuse. Whenever there is a high voltage, voltage fluctuation, overloading, short circuit the fuse melts and prevents the high voltage reaching the electric appliance. This saves the electrical gadget.

Let there be 3 resistance R1, R2, and R3 connected in series. A battery of V volts has been applied to the ends of this series combination. Now suppose the potential difference across the resistance R1 is V1, R2 is V2 and R3 is V3.
∴ V= V1+V2+V3 ...(1)
Now, suppose the total resistance of the combination be R, and the current flowing through the whole circuit be I.
So, applying Ohm's law to the whole circuit, we get :
V/I = R or V=IR ...(2)
∵ The same current is flowing through all three resistances, so by applying Ohm's law to three of them seperately, we will get
V1 = IR1
V2= IR2 and
V3= IR3 ... (3)
Now, putting (3) and (2) in equation (1), we get
IR = IR1 + IR2 + IR3
i.e IR = I ( R1 + R2 + R3 )
⇒ R = R1 + R2 + R3

Balanced chemical equation
When the total number of atoms on the reactant side and the product side is equal, the equation is called a balanced equation.
Need for balancing a chemical equation
A chemical equation needs to be balanced because a chemical reaction is just a rearrangement of atoms.
Atoms themselves are neither created nor destroyed during the course of a chemical reaction.
The chemical equation needs to be balanced to follow the law of conservation of mass
