Sample pieces of five metals A, B, C, D and E were added to the tabulated solutions separately. The results observed are shown in the table: Metal A No Change No Change No Change Coating on metal No Change B Grey Deposit on metal Brown Coating on metal No Change Coating on metal No Change C No Change No Change No Change No Change No Change D No Change ---------- No Change Coating on metal No Change E ----------- Brown coating New coating New coating No Change Based on the observations recorded in the table, answer the following: (1) Which is the most reactive metal? (2) Which is the least reactive metal? (3) What would be observed if metal D were added to a solution of copper (II) sulphate? (4) What would be observed if metal E were added to a solution of iron (II) sulphate? (5) Arrange the metals A, B, C, D and E in decreasing order to their reactivity?

(1) Metal E is most reactive because it displaces zinc from {tex}ZnSO_4{/tex} solution.
(2) Metal C is the least reactive since it has not displaced any of the metals from their respective salt solutions.
(3) Metal D is more reactive than Ag and less reactive than Fe. It can displace Cu from {tex}CuSO_4{/tex} solution.
(4) Since metal E has displaced Zn from {tex}ZnSO_4{/tex} solution, it is more reactive than Zinc. It is therefore expected to be more reactive than iron as well because iron is placed below zinc in the reactive series. Therefore, metal E displaces Fe from {tex}FeSO_4{/tex} solution. A grey /black coating of iron will be deposited on the metal E.
(5) Decreasing order of reactivity E>B>D>A>C

At night?

Photosynthesis is not actually a single process which is performed entirely in the day or night. It basically has two steps- light rxn and dark rxn. In case of desert plants or xerophytes, CO2 is taken inside the plant cells through stomata during the day so as to avoid the excess transpiration and an intermediate product is produced that is acted upon the daytime when sunlight is absorbed.

Jasleen Gill 4 years, 3 months ago

At night because the stomata of the desert plants is opened at night while during daytime the stomata is closed. So they perform photosynthesis at night.

The organisation of an organism is as follows- Cell~Tissue~Organ~Organ system~Body Basically the cells are made up of atoms and molecules. Therefore if there are life processes then there must be activities at cell level which defines the necessity of invisible molecular movement for life.

Preeti Dabral 4 years, 3 months ago

The movement of various molecules that cannot be visible with naked eye is invisible movement of molecules. ... Hence, molecular movement is very necessary for life as it provides energy , transport food and water need for respiration and many more.

gravity, also called gravitation, in mechanics, the universal force of attraction acting between all matter. ... On Earth all bodies have a weight, or downward force of gravity, proportional to their mass, which Earth's mass exerts on them. Gravity is measured by the acceleration that it gives to freely falling objects
