Thanks it really helped me

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 4 months ago

By elimination method
x + y =5          ……….(1)
2x –3y = 4      ………(2)
Multiplying equation (1) by 2, we obtain
2x + 2y = 10   ………..(3)
2x –3y = 4      ………(2)
Subtracting equation (2) from equation (3), we obtain
5y = 6
y = 6/5
Substituting the value in equation (1), we obtain
x = 5  - (6/5)   = 19/5
So our answer is x = 19/5 and y = 6/5

By substitution method
x + y =5          ……….(1)
subtract y both side we get
x = 5 - y          ……..,(4)
plug the value of x in equation second we get
2(5 – y ) – 3y  = 4
-5y = - 6
y = -6/-5 = 6/5
Plug the value of y in equation 4 we get
x  = 5 – 6/5
x   = 19/5

In substitution method . initially you saw that there are two equation in the form of x and y or any other variable , firstly you should take one equation and find the vlue of one variable for example---- suppose first equation will be ( x+y = 4) and another one is (y+ 2x= 5) now take equation which is (x+y= 4 ) == ( x= 4-y ) and put this in another equation which is ( y+2x= 5) Then solve the value for x and y .

Fab 6 years, 4 months ago

The no.of terms is 10 so, n=10 The first term is 3 so, a=3 The the multiples of 3 means the common difference is also 3 so,d=3 Then substitute the value of (a,n,d)in the formula. Sn=n÷2(2n+(n-1)+d)
