A sequence of numbers in which each differs from the preceding one by a constant quantity (e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.; 9, 7, 5, 3, etc.). the relation between numbers in an arithmetic progression.

? Pranali.A.P ? 5 years, 5 months ago

, an arithmetic progression or arithmetic sequence is a sequence of numbers such that the difference between the consecutive terms is constant. Difference here means the second minus the first. For instance, the sequence 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15.. . is an arithmetic progression with common difference of 2.

In mathematics, a rational number is a number that can be expressed as the quotient or fraction p/q of two integers, a numerator p and a non-zero denominator q. [1] Since q may be equal to 1, every integer is a rational number. The set of all rational numbers, often referred to as "the rationals", the field of rationals or the field of rational numbers is usually denoted by a boldface Q (or blackboard bold {\displaystyle \mathbb {Q} } \mathbb {Q} , Unicode ℚ);[2] it was thus denoted in 1895 by Giuseppe Peano after quoziente, Italian for "quotient". The decimal expansion of a rational number always either terminates after a finite number of digits or begins to repeat the same finite sequence of digits over and over. Moreover, any repeating or terminating decimal represents a rational number. These statements hold true not just for base 10, but also for any other integer base (e.g. binary, hexadecimal).

A number which can be expressed in the form of p by q where q is not equal to zero (0) Ex: 9/5

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 5 months ago

The rational numbers are numbers which can be expressed as a fraction and also as positive numbers, negative numbers and zero. It can be written as p/q, where q is not equal to zero.

Rational word is derived from the word ‘ratio’, which actually means a comparison of two or more values or integer numbers and is known as a fraction. In simple words, it is the ratio of two integers.

Example: 3/2 is a rational number. It means integer 3 is divided by another integer 2.

(2x-1) (X-2) =0

2x ( x - 2) - 1 ( x- 2) = 0

2x2 - 4x - 1x + 2 = 0

2x2 - 5x + 2 = 0

2x2 - 4x - 1x + 2= 0

2x (x - 2) - 1(x - 2) =0

(x - 2) ( (2x-1) = 0

x - 2 = 0  and 2x - 1 = 0

x = 2  and 2x = 1

x = 2 abd x = 1/2

Given 7×11×13+13

=13×(7×11+1)=3×78

This number is multiple of two integers. Hence it has more than two factors. Hence it is a composite number.

similarly in

7×6×5×4×3 ×2×1+5

=5(7×6×4×3 ×2×1+1)=5×1009

This number is multiple of two integers.Hence it has more than two factors.Hence it is a composite number.

The largest number by which x , y

divisible and gives the remainder a ,

and b is

the HCF of ( x - a ) and ( y - b)
According to the given problem ,

The largest number which divides

70 and 125 leaving remainders 5 and

8 respectively are

HCF of ( 70 - 5 ) = 65 and

( 125 - 8 ) = 117

65 = 5 × 13

117 = 3 × 3 × 13

HCF ( 65 , 117 ) = 13

Required number is 13.

3x-4y=-16 ......... (i)

2x+4y=16 ........ (ii)

Add (i) and (ii), we get

5x = 0

x = 0
put x = 0 in (ii), we get

2(0) + 4y = 16

4y = 16

y = 4
