The answer is Let 3+2√2 be a rational number and it can be written in the form of : p/q = 3+2√2 p/q -3 = 2√2 p-3q / q =2√2 Rational = irrational Therefore our assumption was wrong. Hence 3+2√2, is an irrational number.

d is the common difference and a is the first term this series forms A.P. as it has common difference and a2-a1 = a3-a2=3 d =a2-a1 = 3 a =2 and given Sn = 155 also Sn =n/2 {2a+(n-1)d} => 155 = n/2{ 4 + (n-1)3} => 310= 4n +3n^2 - 3n => 3n^2 +n -310 =0 => 3n^2 -30n +31n -310 =0 =>3n(n-10)+31(n-10)=0 =>(3n+31)(n-10)=0 since number of terms (n) cant be negative so n=10
