suppose that a is any positive integer then it is divided by 4 then we get q as a quotient and r as a remainder then by euclid's division lemma we get that a=4q + r where 0<= 4<r then r= 0,1,2,3 when r = 0 then a=4q = 2*2q (let 2q = p) = 2p which is an even when r=1 then a= 4q+1 which is an odd when r= 2 then a= 4q+2 = 2(2q+1) (let 2q+1 = p) = 2p which is an even when r=3 then a= 4q+3 = 4q+2+1 = 2(2q+1) +1 (let 2q+1 =p) = 2p+1 which is an odd. hence, we can say that every positive integer is of the form 4q+1 or 4q+3. proved.

12 abx2 - (9a2 - 8b2)x - 6ab = 0
Comparing with Ax2 + Bx + C = 0, we get
A = 12 ab, B = -(9a2 - 8b2), C = -6 ab
Using the quadratic formula, {tex}\mathrm { x } = \frac { - \mathrm { B } \pm \sqrt { \mathrm { B } ^ { 2 } - 4 \mathrm { AC } } } { 2 \mathrm { A } }{/tex}
we get {tex}\Rightarrow x = - \left( - \left( 9 a ^ { 2 } - 8 b ^ { 2 } \right) \right\}{/tex}
{tex}\frac { \pm \sqrt { \left( - \left( 9 a ^ { 2 } - 8 b ^ { 2 } \right) \right) ^ { 2 } - 4 ( 12 a b ) ( - 6 a b ) } } { 2 ( 12 a b ) }{/tex}
{tex}= \frac { 9 a ^ { 2 } - 8 b ^ { 2 } \pm \sqrt { 81 a ^ { 4 } + 64 b ^ { 4 } - 144 a ^ { 2 } b ^ { 2 } + 288 a ^ { 2 } b ^ { 2 } } } { 24 a h }{/tex}

{tex}= \frac { 9 a ^ { 2 } - 8 b ^ { 2 } \pm \sqrt { \left( 9 a ^ { 2 } + 8 b ^ { 2 } \right) ^ { 2 } } } { 24 a b }{/tex}
{tex}= \frac { 9 a ^ { 2 } - 8 b ^ { 2 } \pm \left( 9 a ^ { 2 } + 8 b ^ { 2 } \right) } { 24 a b }{/tex}
{tex}= \frac { 9 a ^ { 2 } - 8 b ^ { 2 } + 9 a ^ { 2 } + 8 b ^ { 2 } } { 24 a b }{/tex}
{tex}= \frac { 9 a ^ { 2 } - 8 b ^ { 2 } - 9 a ^ { 2 } - 8 b ^ { 2 } } { 24 a b }{/tex}
{tex}= \frac { 18 a ^ { 2 } } { 24 a b } , \frac { - 16 b ^ { 2 } } { 24 a b } = \frac { 3 a } { 4 b } , \frac { - 2 b } { 3 a }{/tex}
{tex}\therefore{/tex} the solution of the given equation are {tex}\frac { 3 a } { 4 b } \text { and } \frac { - 2 b } { 3 a }{/tex}.

Sia ? 6 years, 6 months ago

Since, 237 > 81
On applying Euclid's division algorithm, we get
237 = 81 {tex}\times{/tex} 2 + 75 ..........(i)
81 = 75 {tex}\times{/tex} 1 + 6 ..........(ii)
75 = 6 {tex}\times{/tex} 12 + 3 .........(iii)
6 = 3 {tex}\times{/tex} 2 + 0 .............(iv)
Hence, HCF (81,237) = 3.
In order to write 3 in the form of 81x + 237y,
Now,
{tex}\style{font-family:Arial}{\begin{array}{l}3=75-6\times12(\;from(iii))\\=75-(81-75\times1)\times12\\=75-(81\times12-75\times12)\\=75-81\times12+75\times12\\=75(1+12)-81\times12\\=75\times13-81\times12\\=13\times(237-81\times2)-81\times12\;(\;Substuting\;75\;from(i))\\=13\times237-13\times81\times2-81\times12\\=237\times13-81\times(26+12)\\=81(-38)+237\times13\\=81x+237y\end{array}}{/tex}
Hence, x = -38 and y = 13

Put x=8 in f(x) we get 8square - 10×8 + k=0 We get 64-80+k=0 Or k=80-64=16 So k=16

Shubham Kumar 7 years, 6 months ago

16 is the value of k.

Suhani Srivastava 7 years, 6 months ago

f (x) = x square - 10x + k f (8) = (8×8) - (10×8) + k 64 - 80 + k = 0 -16 + k = 0 k = 16

Tanya Teotia 7 years, 6 months ago

Putting the value of = 8 so, 10X 8 +k= 0 80+ k= 0 K= - 80
