The key features of the Indian Constitution are explained below: (i)Federalism- Our Constitution has provided for a federal form of government. This means that we have government at the state level and at the centre. Panchayati Raj is the third tier of government. India is a large country with a vast number of communities living together in it. It was important to have another level of government in states so that decisions could be made for that particular area. While each state in India enjoys autonomy in exercising powers on certain issues, subjects on national concern require that all of these states follow the laws of the central government. Under federalism, the states are agents of the federal government and they draw their authority from the Constitution. (ii)Parliamentary form of Government - The different tiers of government consists of representatives who are elected by the people. The Constitution of India guarantees universal adult franchise for all citizens. This means that people of India have a direct role in electing their representatives. At the same time, every citizen of the country, irrespective of his/her social background, can also contest in elections. These representatives are accountable to the people. (iii)Separation of Powers - There are three organs of the state—the legislature, the executive and the judiciary. In order to prevent the misuse of power by any one branch of the state, the Constitution says that each of these organs should exercise different powers. In this way, each organ acts as a check on the other organs of the state and this establishes a balance of power between the three. (iv)Fundamental Rights - Fundamental Rights are called the conscience of the Indian Constitution. These Rights protect against the absolute exercise of power by the state. The Constitution thus guarantees the rights of individuals against the state as well as against other individuals. (v)Secularism - It is an important feature of our Constitution. A secular state is one in which the state does not officially promote any one religion as the state religion.

Universal Adult Franchise means all citizens who are 18 years and above irrespective of their caste or education, religion, colour, race and economic conditions are free to vote. However, there are exceptions like lunatics, minors, aliens etc. who are not allowed to vote. It is an essential aspect of all democracies and is based on the concept of equality.

Let's take smaller angle=x So, the larger angle will be =x+12 The sum of complementary angles=90° So, x+x+12°=90° 2x+12°=90° [Transpose 12 to RHS] 2x=90°-12° 2x=78° (Transpose 2 to RHS ) x=78°/2 x=39° So, the smaller angle is 39° and the larger angle is 39°+12°=51°.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 5 months ago

Let one angle be x
its complement = (90-x)
according to question
x-(90-x) = 12
x-90+x = 12
2x = 12+90=> 102
x =102/2 = 51°
therefore its complement = (90-x) = 90-51 = 39°

At the lowest stratum of the peasantry tribals subsisted as agricultural labourers, coolies in plantations, mines and factories and through shifting cultivation. The colonial state tightened control over forest zones for revenue and banned shifting cultivation in the reserved forests. In short, the main problems of the tribals are poverty, indebtedness, illiteracy, bondage, exploitation, disease and unemployment. After independence, tribal problems and tribal unrest have become politicised. An articulate and effective political elite have emerged in several tribal areas.

Crop rotation is a method of replenishing the soil with nutrients and this is done by growing different crops alternatively. For example, growing legumes as fodder in one season and wheat in the next season. It is important because it helps in replenishing of soil with nitrogen.

Meghna Thapar 5 years, 5 months ago

The practice in which different types of crops (leguminous and non-leguminous) are grown alternately in the same field or soil is called crop rotation. In crop rotation, the cereal crops like wheat, maize, paddy and millet are grown with leguminous crops like pulses, beans, peas, etc. in the same field. When a cereal crop is grown first, it takes away a lot of nitrogen from the soil and makes it deficient. Leguminous crops are grown to enrich the soil with nitrogen and thus increase the fertility of the soil.
