The main difference between zoos and sanctuaries is how they acquire their animals. A zoo might buy, sell, breed, or trade animals, or even capture animals from the wild. A sanctuary also does not capture animals from the wild but acquires only animals who can no longer survive in the wild. Sanctuaries are better is because the animals often die prematurely in zoos. For example, an elephant in the wild generally lives three times longer than an elephant in a zoo. This is because the animals cannot get the right resources that they usually get in the wild.

The city had Broad and straight streets.

The city had sprawling mansions set in the middle of large compounds.

Shahjahanabad

It was constructed as a walled city with 14 gates, adjoining a fort-place complex, with the river Jamuna flowing near it.

There were mazes of narrow and winding lanes and by lanes.

The city had crowded and congested mohallas and hevelis. It was expensive to maintain havelis and thus gradually they fell into decay and disuse.

Comet is a body of ice, rock and dust that can be several miles in diameter and orbits the sun. Debris from comets is the source of many meteoroids whereas meteor is a meteoroid that enters the earth's atmosphere and vaporizes. Also called a “shooting star.” Over time, the dust tails of comets form extended clouds of dust and debris which orbit in the same path as the comet which formed them. These occasionally intersect the earth's orbit and the grains of dust burn up in the earth's atmosphere as meteor showers. A meteor is therefore much smaller than a comet.

Highest common factor Q1. Find the highest common factor (H.C.F) of 15 (Fifteen) and 35 (Thirty five). Solution: Factors of 15 (Fifteen) = 1, 3, 5 and 15. Factors of 35 (Thirty five) = 1, 5, 7 and 35. Therefore, common factor of 15 (Fifteen) and 35 (Thirty five) = 1 and 5. Highest common factor (H.C.F) of 15 (Fifteen) and 35 (Thirty five) = 5.

Child labour refers to the employment of children in any work that deprives children of their childhood, interferes with their ability to attend regular school, and that is mentally, physically, socially or morally dangerous and harmful. This practice is considered exploitative by many international organisations. Legislation across the world prohibit child labour. These laws do not consider all work by children as child labour; exceptions include work by child artists, family duties, supervised training, certain categories of work such as those by Amish children, some forms of child work common among indigenous American children, and others.

wseNotessearch Search for any book or any question HOMEWORK HELP > HISTORY How did India become independent from the British? How did India become independent from the British? print Print document PDF list Cite Expert Answers POHNPEI397 eNotes educator| CERTIFIED EDUCATOR The short answer to this is that India became independent from the British when the British voluntarily granted India its independence. In 1947, the British Parliament passed the Indian Independence Act, creating the new countries of India and Pakistan. Thus, India became independent through an act of Parliament. The longer answer is that India became independent for at least two reasons. Perhaps the less important of these reasons was WWII. WWII badly sapped the strength of the United Kingdom. This left it without the resources it might have needed to maintain sovereignty over India. It also put the United States in position to lead the non-communist world, which mattered because the US did not generally approve of colonialism. Thus, WWII severely weakened Britain’s ability to hold India.
