Total number of students=340

Percentage of science student=55%

Percentage of commerce student=(100-55)%

=45%

Number of commerce student=45/100*340

=153

Or

Number of Science students
= 340 x 55 / 100 = 187.
∴ Number of students of Commerce
= 340 – 187 = 153.

let the breadth be x let the length be x+8 perimeter of rectangle=2 (length +breadth) so, 2 (x+x+8)=44cm =2 (2x+8)=44 =4x + 16=44 =4x= 44-16 =4x= 28 =x = 28÷4 =x= 7 therefore, breadth is 7 (x) length is 7+8 (x+8) =15

let the breadth be x
let the length be x+8
perimeter of rectangle=2 (length +breadth)
so, 2 (x+x+8)=44cm
=2 (2x+8)=44
=4x + 16=44
=4x= 44-16
=4x= 28
=x = 28÷4
=x= 7
therefore,
breadth is 7 (x)
length is 7+8 (x+8)
=15

5x+74x−2=3x+84x−5 Step 1: Simplify both sides of the equation. 5x+74x−2=3x+84x−5 5x+74x+−2=3x+2x+−5 (5x+74x)+(−2)=(3x+2x)+(−5)(Combine Like Terms) 274x+−2=5x+−5 274x−2=5x−5 Step 2: Subtract 5x from both sides. 274x−2−5x=5x−5−5x 74x−2=−5 Step 3: Add 2 to both sides. 74x−2+2=−5+2 74x=−3 Step 4: Multiply both sides by 4/7. (47)*(74x)=(47)*(−3) x=−127 Answer: x=−127

Rate of flow of water = 60 litres/minute

Volume of the tank = 108 m3

1 m3 = 1000 litres

108 m3= 108000 litres

Time taken to fill the complete tank = 108000/60 = 1800 minutes = 1800/60 hours = 30 hours

The tank will be filled completely in 30 hours.

Area of cross section of river = 10×100 =1000sqm

Volume of water flow in 1 hour = Area of cross section ×Speed of water flow

V=1000× 4.5 km/h

V= 1000 ×4.5 ×5/18 m/sec

V=1250 m^3

1m ^3 =1000 liter

1250 m^3 = 1000×1250= 1250000 liter in 1 sec

Volume of cylinder with radius r and height h is given by

V = πr²h

It is given that,a cylindrical candle has base radius 3.5

The volume of cylindrical candle = 308 cm cube

To find the height of candle

Volume of candle is given by

V = πr²h

308 = 3.14 x 3.5 x 3.5 x h

h = 8cm

Therefore the height of cylindrical candle= 8 cm

Given the three cubes of metal whose side are 3 cm , 4 cm and 5 cm

Then volume of cube who side 3 cm=(3)3=27cm3

And  volume of cube who side 4 cm=(4)3=64cm3

And  volume of cube who side 5 cm=(5)3=125cm3

Total volume of melted cube=27+64+125=216cm3

Then the side of new cube=a3=216

⇒a=6cm

Gaurav Seth 5 years ago

vol. of larger metal cube = vol. of three smaller cubes
=(3)³ + 4³ + 5³
= 27 + 64 + 125
= 216 cm³
vol.of larger metal cube = 216 cm³
(a)³ = 216 cm³
a³ = 6³
a = 6 cm
therefore edge of larger metal cube is 6 cm
