If the time taken by one pendulum to reach its mean position from the extreme position is 0.25 seconds then a pendulum will move to two extreme positions from one mean position only.
That will means that the total time period = 2 * 0.25 = 0.50 seconds.
Since, a pendulum will move from mean to the extreme, extreme to mean, mean to the extreme and again extreme to mean, it will cover 2 cycles.
Hence, 2 * .50 = 1

Many people in our country still do not have an access to proper sanitation facilities. They defecate in the open, on dry riverbeds, on railway tracks, near fields and many a time directly in water.
Poor sanitation and contaminated drinking water is the cause of a large number of diseases. Untreated human excreta is a health hazard and cause water pollution and soil pollution. When both the surface water and groundwater get polluted it becomes the most common route for water borne diseases like cholera, typhoid, polio, meningitis, hepatitis and dysentery.

Earth absorbs about 75 % of the total solar energy reaching its surface thereby increasing its temperature. Some of this energy is radiated back into the atmosphere. The gases present in the atmosphere for example ozone, methane, carbon dioxide, water vapor and chlorofluorocarbons are called greenhouse gases, they absorb some heat thereby restricting the heat to escape our atmosphere. These gases add to the heating of the atmosphere and result in global warming.

Physical Change: Change in which only physical properties of a substance change and no new substance is formed is called Physical Change. Most of the physical changes are reversible, this means we can get the substance back even after the change.
Examples: Folding of a paper sheet: A paper can be folded or unfolded, and hence it is an example of physical change. Moreover, no new substance is formed in this process, so it is a physical change.
Chemical changes: Changes in which chemical properties of substance change and a new substance is formed are called chemical changes. Some of the chemical changes are irreversible. Even in case of reversible changes in which chemical properties of substance change and a new substance is formed are called chemical changes. Some of the chemical changes are irreversible.
Example: Burning of wax is chemical change
