Igneous Rock

Igneous rock is one of the three main rock types. Igneous rock is formed through the cooling and solidification of magma or lava. Igneous rock may form with or without crystallization, either below the surface as intrusive (plutonic) rocks or on the surface as extrusive (volcanic) rocks.

Sedimentary Rock

The sedimentary rocks are formed by the deposition and subsequent cementation of that material within bodies of water and at the surface of the earth. The process that causes various organic materials and minerals to settle in a place is termed as sedimentation.

Metamorphic Rocks

The metamorphic rocks make up a large part of the Earth’s crust and are classified by texture and by chemical and mineral assemblage. They may be formed simply by being deep beneath the Earth’s surface, subjected to high temperatures and the great pressure of the rock layers above it.

In the story “A gift of chappals” written by Vasantha Surya, Ravi is a young boy who is kind-hearted and compassionate. This can be known through his deed throughout the story. He gets home an abandoned kitten even though the people at his home might not agree to keep it. He secretly keeps the kitten and feeds him with milk, all in secret. He is a loving and caring boy. He loves to have friends. He is very sharp and intelligent in the field of history. He is a generous person filled with humanity. His generosity and humanity can be proved by the way he wanted to help the beggar who had no chapels and whose feet might get burnt in under the hot sun. As a whole, he is generous, intelligent and compassionate — the qualities anybody would love to find in a person.

Village assemblies were an important part of the Chola administration (society and polity). A self-sufficient and autonomous village was established with the help of these assemblies. The assemblies worked from the grassroot level, with participation of all villagers. At the top of the system, there were several officers and committees overlooking the work of autonomous units. According to the Uttaramerur inscriptions, there were three types of assemblies that played a prominent role in the local administration. These assemblies are as follows:
The ur: - It was an assembly of the common people. All people owning land could become its part.
The Sabuha- - It was an exclusive Brahmin assembly.
The nagaram-  - It was an assembly of traders and merchants.
